08/01/2018 – The Tulsa Zoo is offering admission for only $1 to any guests donating a non-perishable food item on Friday, August 3, 2018. All donated items will go to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, the largest private hunger-relief organization in Eastern Oklahoma.
One non-perishable food item must be received per $1 admission ticket. This special is not available with any other offer.
Any labeled, unopened, non-expired, non-perishable food item will be accepted. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is specifically looking for the following:
– Protein in the form of peanut butter, canned meats, dry pinto beans
– Fruits and vegetables like dried fruit, canned fruit and vegetables
– Grains such as rice, granola bars, crackers, oatmeal, whole grain cereals and pasta
Oklahoma consistently ranks as one of the top states in the nation for the number of people struggling with hunger. The Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that distributes food and other grocery items to 465 Partner Programs. A member of the Feeding America’s network of food banks, the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma provides more than 339,000 meals each week to food pantries, emergency shelters, soup kitchens, senior citizen centers and after-school programs.
