Spread the love

Not just believing in magic for a moment… but in the magic of possibilities over a lifetime.

Elementary school is where the foundation of imagination, exploration, and the beginning of a lifelong voyage of discoveries is nourished and developed.
What is it that children will remember when they close their elementary doors behind them for the last time?

Will it be the painting on the walls that brightened the days or whisked them away to wonderland for a moment? Perhaps some will find joy in the days the cheerleaders came to visit. The times they helped the school nurse with boo boo’s or read to them as a kindergartner. Maybe it will be the admired high school marching band trumpeting and drumming down the hall with the mighty Owasso Ram football team high fiving everyone in the halls on Rally days! For some, the special elementary memory might be the day the Owasso Fire Department came to teach fire safety to their class and then even stayed for lunch in the cafeteria with all the students at their tables.

Of course, there are always those moments closer to home that linger. Like being in the Ram Rally performance, the Christmas play or the surprise of hearing your name called in front of the entire school for being the Student of the Month!

Several may remember the milestone markers such as the very first day of kindergarten, the day they lost their very first tooth in class or their last day as an elementary student in 5th grade.

Maybe they’ll remember the laughter. The thoughts of crazy hair and character days that sparked creativity and spirit from class to class and drained energy from every teacher head to toe!
Friendships made that lasted a lifetime.

The time their parents came.

Teacher’s who made it fun.

There might be a flicker of magic that sticks from the ever so cherished trip on the Polar Express. Where imagination is encouraged and “Believing” is the message.
This 2014, we wish for the magic memories to continue in the making at Barnes Elementary School.

And students, as you reflect on your elementary years we hope first and foremost that you know… Someone BELIEVES in YOUR future.
