ohpDepartment of Public Safety officials report 33 fatalities in December 2013 compared to 66 in the same month the previous year.  

                                             

There were no motorcycle fatalities in the month of December . Three pedestrians died in traffic related crashes. The highest daily fatality numbers include eight deaths on Sunday, dropping to five on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays . There were 14 days in the month of December the Department of Public Safety reported no fatalities.

Two of the fatality crashes were alcohol-related. Twenty-seven of the fatality victims were Oklahoma residents and six nonresidents. There were 23 male and nine female victims.  

Eight of the fatality victims were under the age of 20. The 41 – 50 year-old led the fatality count with six.

Tulsa County led the state with a fatality count of eight, followed by Oklahoma County with four fatalities.
                                                       
The highest number of fatalities occurred on US Highways  with 13.  There were eight fatalities on City Streets.  

Sixty-five percent of those who died in traffic collisions were not wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.
