Edward Glenn Sherrill, longtime resident of Owasso, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 in Tulsa. He was 86 years of age. Edward was born January 29, 1928 to Glenn Walter and Goldie Mae (Jenkins) Sherrill in Tulsa, where he was raised. Edward served in the US Army, faithfully serving his country. On October 27, 1947, he and Louella Marie Johnson were united in marriage. To this union a daughter was born. They made their home in Tulsa, until moving to Owasso in 1954. He worked for many years as a heating and air contractor. Edward loved tinkering with things and could fix practically anything. He was also very creative and enjoyed woodworking and painting. Edward was affiliated with the Owasso First Assembly of God Church.
Those that survive include his daughter – Judy Whitley and husband Dennis of Broken Arrow, OK; two grandsons Matthew Whitley of Bentonville, AR and Daniel Whitley of Broken Arrow. Also surviving are a sister Mary Jo Rudd and husband Lloyd of Salem, MO and a niece Bonnie Randolph of Wichita, KS. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louella and a sister Nell Miller.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 1:30 pm in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service with Pastor Bruce McCarty officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening April 1st from 4pm – 8pm. Burial will be next to his wife in the Fairview Cemetery, Owasso.
