Saving Money When You Have No Time

After the “Extreme Couponing” show came out on TLC, people started to assume couponing takes at least 40 hours a week. Of course, many people also assumed you have to jump into dumpsters for coupons and stockpile bacon under your bed. Believe it or not, that’s not the case. In the real world, I barely have time to tie my shoes int he morning let alone spend 40 hours a week clipping coupons.

There is good news though! It doesn’t take nearly that long. Here are some easy tips to help you save money and save time!

1. Plan Your Menu: While it might sound time consuming, menu planning is quick, easy and it will save you time in the long run. All you have to do is glance at the sales  flyers and coupons to plan your family meals and snacks. When you plan around sales, you’re automatically saving money without ever clipping a coupon. To make it even easier, check out my Coupon Matchup page where we actually “match up” store sales with coupons for you!

2. Print ’em: Coupons.com is the #1 printable coupon website in the United States. The coupons change often and they’re typically much better than those in the newspaper. What is great about printable coupons is that you print only the ones you actually need and you can print them in black and white to save on ink.

3. Keep it in the Family: If you’re kids are old enough, add coupon clipping to the chore chart. Also, have your kids help you with the menu planning and keeping everything organized. Saving money should be a family affair, if your kids are used to it, they’ll grow up with a more frugal mindset. You’ll save time and money plus, your kids will most definitely learn the value of a dollar.

There are so many easy ways to save that having no time is no excuse! Again, make it a family thing and do what you can, saving a little bit of money is better than saving nothing!
