With summer right around the corner, could you remind me what the recommendations are for SPF and sunscreen? How often should it be applied?
Answer:
With sunscreen, frequent application is more important than the SPF value. For most people, there is no significant benefit of SPF values over 30. What does show significant benefit is reapplication. It is a good idea to apply a sunscreen every morning regardless of how much time you plan to spend outside. Sunscreen should be reapplied every two to three hours while in the sun. It may need to be reapplied more frequently when water sports or other water activity is involved.
