Question:
I’ve found that since my hysterectomy several years ago, using the restroom is very uncomfortable. Is there a reason that the normal feeling of pressure would change to a sharp pain following the surgery? I hoped it was something that would resolve with time, but so far, it has not. Thank you in advance.
Answer:
No, there is not a normal reason that you should be having pain several years after a hysterectomy. This is a unique situation and, unfortunately, it is difficult to provide you with a direct answer about what could be causing your pain without further discussion that would allow us to know more about you, why you had a hysterectomy, how your uterus was removed and whether your ovaries were also removed. Since the issue has not resolved at this point, we recommend that you see an OB/Gyn or a surgeon for evaluation.
