At 2:50 p.m. Saturday, May 10, Owasso police officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired at the Greens Apartments on North 133 East Avenue.
A caller reported hearing one or more gunshots, possibly coming from inside an apartment building.
Officers were initially unable to locate anything out of the ordinary at the apartment complex, but a short time later a man arrived at the emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
It was determined that the male at the hospital had been shot at the Greens and an investigation was initiated.
Owasso detectives are currently processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. Although the investigation is in its initial stages, there is some indication that illegal drugs were involved and the shooting may have resulted from a drug transaction or attempted robbery that went awry.
At this time, no arrests have been made but all the involved parties, including the alleged shooter, are accounted for and cooperating with the shooting.
