Paul Eugene Farwell, resident of Collinsville, passed from this life on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 88 years. Paul was born April 13, 1926 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Ola and Maye (Schaffer) Farwell. He was raised and received his education there, graduating from Eureka Springs high school. On April 12, 1944, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Paul returned to Eureka Springs and on July 15, 1949, was united in marriage to Helen Weeks. Their only son, Stephen, was born on April 3, 1951. Paul graduated from a technical school in Kansas City, MO and became a Refrigeration ServiceEngineer. Paul enjoyed ranching, raising cattle and gardening. He and Helen were members of the Eureka Springs First Christian Church. They have resided in the Collinsville/Owasso area for the past 13 years.
Paul is survived by his wife Helen of the home; son Stephen and wife Randi of Owasso; two grandsons – Chris Farwell and wife Carla of Collinsville, Mike Farwell and wife Kaley of Owasso; two great grandchildren Owen and Natalee Farwell and a brother Wayne Farwell of Eureka Springs, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Mowery Funeral Service at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 13, 2014 with Rev. Charles Trombley of Broken Arrow officiating. Private burial will be in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Collinsville, OK. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
