Loreda Dee Hampton was born January 22, 1927 in Indianola, OK to Charles Arthur and Willie Mae (Ronsley) Owen. She passed from this life on June 5, 2014 in Owasso. Loreda was raised and received her education in Indianola, graduating with the class of 1945. On June 2, 1945, she and Loyd Wayne Hampton were united in marriage in McAlester, OK. They made their home in Eufaula, where they raised their family. Loyd preceded her in death on June 22, 1999. Loreda has made Owasso home since 2000. She was a past member of Bethel Baptist Church. Her family remembers her as a loving wife, mother, grandparent and great grandparent. Her interests were many, including sewing, crocheting, tatting, painting, quilting and reading; as well as photography and gardening. Loreda was a regular visitor of the Owasso Community Center where she was well liked by all. She is greatly loved and will be missed.
Loreda is survived by her children – Rita Anich and husband Milan Sr., two grandchildren Eric Young and great grandson Cooper; Dana Allenbaugh and husband Tim; daughter Kay McKinnis and husband Lee, two grandsons Charles McKinnis and wife Amanda, four great grandchildren Katy, Luke, Joshua and Caleb McKinnis, grandson Nat McKinnis and fiancé Stacy Smith; and daughter Deborah Anderson and husband Brian, and six grandchildren Marissa Waller and husband Ryan, Nicholas Anderson and wife Clareese, Rebecca Anderson, Kathryn Neal and husband Brandon, Mark (Rusty) Anderson and Brooke Anderson. Besides her husband, Loreda was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM – Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Bible Church of Owasso with Pastor Ted Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at the Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery, Owasso. Visitation will be from 3-6 on Sunday at Mowery Funeral Service.
