Teaching the Children Touches the Future!
The Owasso Community Center is happy to announce that a third summer Children’s Art Course will be presented at the Owasso Community Center, 301 Cedar Street, Owasso.
Instructor Sharlee Kuhns will begin the course that consists of six classes on Tuesday, July 29 2014, twice a week for two hours a day 9am-11am on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s ending Tuesday, August 12th 2014, with two classes early in the week on the last week scheduled for Monday and Tuesday before Owasso schools resume for the Fall Semester. The Instruction will give preference to students who will be in Grades 2-5 when school resumes in the Fall. Registrations are limited to twelve students per course. Classes are FREE. A supply list will be given to each student who participates. Supplies must be ordered and purchased before the first day of class!
Arrangements must be made to pick up your student no later than 11:15 am. Registrations close when the course is filled. The instructor will receive donations towards the cost of supplies for teaching.
Classes will begin on July 29, 2014 8:30am-11:00am and continue July 31, 9am-11am; August 5th & 7th 9am-11am; August 11th and 12th 9am-11am
Class participants will be video-taped and the classes will be developed into DVD format for use with home school programs. Classes are designed for children who are serious about art and who want to learn art techniques (ie: brush strokes, color mixing, perspective and composition). The instructor uses a combination of old masters, stories and, visual aids. Students will also be taught pencil drawing and watercolor painting. Subject matter may include painting of landscapes, animals, birds, people, sea and ships.

*As well as 1- roll of Paper towel, 1- Empty square tissue paper box, 1- 9×12 Clipboard, 1- 12 inch Ruler, 1- Shoe box or 1- Plastic box the size of a shoebox.*
On the last day of class students will receive a certificate of completion. Parents are encouraged to come on the last day for graduation and photo taking.
