Tulsa, Okla. – August 25, 2014– On September 13, 2014, Tulsa Ballet welcomes local children, ages 6-14, to audition for Marcello Angelini’s The Nutcracker. Interested young dance students may audition for roles such as baby clowns, party children, mice, soldiers, tumblers and Marie. The Nutcracker provides aspiring young dancers the opportunity to perform with the professional artists of Tulsa Ballet. Auditions will take place from 1:30p.m.-6:00p.m. at the Tulsa Ballet headquarters located at 1212 E.45th Place S., Tulsa, OK 74105. When: Saturday, September 13, 2014. Registration opens at 1:30 p.m. Audition times vary according to age and part.
Fee: $10 per person. Correct change requested. Maximum fee $20 for families with more than two children auditioning. (Must have the same mailing address.)

Tulsa Ballet’s The Nutcracker Open Children’s Audition Schedule
Group 1 – Marie, Fritz, Party Scene
Boys and Girls, Ages 11 to 14
Height Requirement: 4’7” to 5’3” for girls; up to 5’6” for boys
Registration: 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Audition: Boys: 2:00 to 2:15 p.m., Girls: 2:15 to 3:30 p.m.
Girls auditioning for Marie should be advanced students taking pointe classes 3 to 4 days a week. Girls should look like girls; not mature young ladies. (Some girls may be invited to audition if they do not meet the stated criteria.)
Group 2 – Tumblers, Baby Clowns, Mice, Soldiers
Boys and Girls, Ages 6 to 14 (6 year olds eligible to audition for Baby Clowns ONLY)
Height Requirement: No taller than 5’
Registration: 2:30 pm to 3:30 p.m.
Audition: 3:30 p.m. To 6:00 p.m. Tumblers and Baby Clowns first; then they will be dismissed.
All children must be currently enrolled in ballet or gymnastics classes. Tumblers must be able to complete 3 to 4 tumbling passes across the stage. Rehearsal requirements are less for Tumblers and Baby Clowns.
Additional Audition Information
· Children who qualify for more than one audition should attend all.
· Casting is determined solely by the Artistic Staff of Tulsa Ballet.
· Casting notification immediately following audition.
