Richard Wendell Bailey, local resident of Owasso, Oklahoma, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the age of 58 years. He was born January 20, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan, to Robert Wendell and Tommie Maurine (Cooper) Bailey. He graduated from Bixby High School in the Class of 1975. He continued his education at OSU in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Richard married Tala Pele in Eureka Springs in January 2007. He worked at National Steak and Poultry in Owasso in facilities maintenance. He attended Church on the Move in Tulsa. Richard enjoyed a variety of pastimes – one of which was bowling; he owned bragging rights to a couple of perfect “300” games! He laughed readily and will be remembered for his tremendous work ethic, his warm smile and his big heart. He was full of God’s love, so it was easy for him to give love. He affirmed and validated the worth of people. Richard was a “doer” of the Word – always willing to lend a helping hand. He made a lasting difference in the lives of others. There is great comfort in knowing for sure that Richard is with Jesus and that we will see him again in heaven for eternity.
