On Sunday, May 18th at approximately 1:25 AM, Owasso Officers were dispatched to a shooting at the Brookwood Apartments, located in the 1400 block of N. Birch Street. Upon arrival, officers were directed to an adult male inside an apartment with a single bullet wound to the head. The alleged shooter, also an adult male, was inside the same apartment.
An unnamed victim (age 28) was transported from the scene to a hospital in Tulsa. His current condition is not known at this time. The alleged shooter (age 26) is cooperating with Owasso detectives and reportedly claims that he accidentally discharged the .22 caliber rifle, inadvertently striking his friend in the head.
Once the investigation is completed, this case will be submitted to the Tulsa County District Attorney to determine if criminal charges are warranted against the alleged shooter.
