Joyce Scott was born August 7, 1932, in Westville, Oklahoma, to James William and Ocie Marie (West) Maupins. She died Sunday, May 31, 2015, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Joyce was reared and educated in Westville, Oklahoma, and graduated with Westville High School. She was married December 24, 1951, in Crawford, Arkansas, to John Scott, Jr. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1965. Joyce spent much of her working life as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but caring for and spending time with her family was most important.

Two brothers; John Dean Maupins and his wife Jean, of Westville, Jack Paul Maupins and his wife Alice, of Skiatook, OK
Sister; Tresa Shipley and husband Jay, of Arkansas
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, John Scott, Jr. on October31, 2014.
Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Leonard Pirtle officiating. Committal services and interment will be held at Fort Gibson National Cemetery. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
