Cherokee Nation calendar of events for July
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — At-Large and District 6 voters will be asked to cast a ballot one more time as both Tribal Council races will have a run-off election Saturday, July 25. Deadlines to apply for the new Miss Cherokee, Jr. Miss Cherokee and Little Cherokee Ambassadors are also in July. Other Cherokee Nation events scheduled are as follows:
July 2
5 p.m. – Deadline to apply for the Camp Cherokee residential camp and day camp, both located at Heart O’Hills in Welling. The application can be downloaded at camp.cherokee.org.
July 3
Cherokee Nation’s W.W. Keeler Complex, satellite offices and health centers will be closed for Independence Day. Cherokee Nation W.W. Hastings Hospital urgent care and emergency departments as well as other Cherokee Nation emergency services will remain open.
July 6
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Tribal registration help with citizenship applications in Jay. Sam Hider Health Center, 1015 Washbourne St. Call 918-253-4271.
July 7
6 to 9 p.m. – Cherokee Nation Community and Cultural Outreach hosts a bi-weekly digital technology class to help overcome fears of computers, the Internet and common software. Second class meets July 21. The classes will be held at the Sequoyah High School Library, 17091 S. Muskogee Ave., Tahlequah. For more information, call 918-207-4950.

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The Cherokee Nation WIC Program will have office hours at Cooweescoowee Health Center, 395200 W. 2900 Road,Ochelata, every Thursday. For more information, call 918-342-6372.

3 to 5 p.m. – The Cherokee Nation, Tulsa Veterans Center and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 50 host an event at Tom Buffington Heights, 900 McNelis Ave. 31-B, Vinita. 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Early in-person absentee voting at the Cherokee Nation Election Commission, 2216 S. Bald Hill Road, Tahlequah, for the District 6 and At-Large Tribal Council run-off elections.
