Born in Oologah, OK, to Zazzle Knight and Joel Downing, Joan passed away from this life to eternal life on Monday, August 24, 2015, in Tucson, AZ, at the age of 78. Joan was married March 29, 1952, in Huntsville, AR, to Floyd Hambrick. They had two children, Teresa & Tony, and after living in Catoosa and Claremore settled in Owasso. Joan worked in the Tulsa area for many years as a clerical professional and on April 18, 1975, married Charles Savage. They loved traveling to Colorado and casino trips, dancing, and music of all kinds, and had 31 wonderful years together before his death in 2006. In 2002 Joan became a proud member of the Cherokee Nation after researching her genealogy. She was a woman of great faith in God and is no longer held captive by Alzheimer’s disease and is instead dancing with the angels.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles and brother Sandy Duffey.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 1, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Graveside services will be officiated by Pastor Donald Hogue, Jr, at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 2, at Fairview Cemetery in Owasso. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
