Georgia Louise Cavins, formerly of Owasso, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 83. She was born May 2, 1932 in Heavener, OK to Cecil B. and Johnie (Coyle) Brand. Louise was raised and received her education in Tulsa. On April 8, 1950, she and Victor L. Cavins were united in marriage in Sapulpa, OK. To this union, three daughters were born. Louise and Vic made their home in Tulsa until 1962 when they moved to establish their home in Owasso. In 1966, they relocated to Dallas, TX where she established herself as Administrative Manager for Triple A Oil Company. Upon retirement in 1991, she and Vic returned to their home in Owasso. In 2005, they moved to Denton, TX to be closer to their children. Louise added artistry to all of the activities she enjoyed including, cooking, gardening, ceramics, sewing and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Those that survive include their three daughters – Shelia Heaton of Garland, TX, Cathy Cavins of Denton, TX and Vickie Mann and husband William also of Denton. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Dr. Matthew Heaton of Roanoke, VA, Andrew Cavins of Bowling Green, KY, Scott Heaton of Garland, TX, Rev. Dr. James Mann of Denton, TX, Douglas Mann of Crystal Lake, IL and Mark Mann also of Garland and nine great grandchildren. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed.
Visitation will be from 10:00 until noon on Monday, October 12, 2015 at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso with services to be at 1:30PM with Rev. Kevin Ray Sinclair officiating. Special Harp music was provided by Lorelei Kaiser Barton of Tulsa. Georgia was laid to rest next to her husband in the Fairview Cemetery, Owasso.
