A parent meeting will be held at Stone Canyon Elementary Media Center to provide an opportunity for you to preview the Growth and Development video that will be shown to the 5th Grade students. School nurses will be available to answer your questions.
The Parent meeting will be held at Stone Canyon Elementary Media Center on Thursday, January 21, 2016, at 6:30 pm.
The class will consist of a video developed specifically for this age group with information about their “changing bodies” and will be followed with a question and answer period. Boys and girls will attend separate classes. The School Nurse will conduct the classes with a counselor and/or classroom teacher in attendance.
Classes for the 5th Grade will be presented during the months of February to May. A letter containing specific dates for your school site will be sent home closer to the actual date scheduled.
This is a great opportunity for parents to discuss your family values and expectations with your student and offer your personal guidance. If you do not wish for your student to participate in the class please notify his/her teacher in writing prior to the class date.
