Rose Nell “Rosie” Sanders was born January 4, 1935, in Braggs, Oklahoma, to Lester Marion and Gladys Janet (Davis) Hibbs. She died Sunday, April 21, 2013, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years. Rosie was reared and educated in Chouteau, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Chouteau High School Class of 1952. She was married November 12, 1954, in Tulsa, to Leroy C. Sanders. She spent most of her working life as a homemaker and caring for her family. Rosie loved the church and was a 45 year member of Owasso First Assembly of God serving as Junior girls Sunday School teacher and President of Women’s Ministries. She was also associated with the Collinsville Assembly of God and was a charter member of Christ’s Church of Owasso. Rosie enjoyed a variety of pastimes including gardening, traveling, playing hand and foot with her favorite friends. She was also an amazing cook. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ollie Sanders.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at the Owasso First Assembly of God with Pastor Jeff Bradley and Pastor Joe Goodin officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Ryan Ford, Jordan Ford, Andy Sanders, Jesse Sanders, Marty Pierce, Myles Davidson, Vernon White, and Ed Reiser. Committal services and interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park Cemetery in Owasso, Oklahoma. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 1022, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
