Joe John Edwards was born July 22, 1960, in San Angelo, Texas, to Donald Fred and Ruby Alice Edwards (née Overstreet). He died Monday, August 1, 2016, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 56 years. Joe John was reared and educated in Comanche, Texas, and graduated with Comanche High School’s class of 1979. After high school, he attended Tarleton State University on a track scholarship in pole-vaulting. He then transferred to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Joe John was married June 19, 1986, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Juli Edwards (née Sunday). Much of his working life was spent with Keller Williams Realty as managing partner for the award-winning SundayEdwards Group. In his spare time, Joe John enjoyed going to the movies with Juli, playing sports, playing with his children, barefoot water skiing, reading, relaxing on the family farm, and in his later years, focusing on not getting hurt playing sports with the kids.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2016, at First Church in Owasso with Pastor Charlie Curran officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Joe John’s memory to First Church Owasso, 10100 N. Garnett Rd, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
