Rejoice Christian Schools is excited to announce the opening of its brand new 2,000-seat football stadium. The Rejoice Varsity Football team will host Kiefer tonight at 7:00 p.m.
“We are excited about having our own facilities to train and build up our athletes,” said Rejoice Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Brent Marley. “So many memories will be made that our students will have for a lifetime. It’s an adrenaline rush knowing that we get to play tonight on our actual home field.”
“The athletic facilities will bring a lot of people on the Rejoice campus each year and it is important for us to be a good witness for the Lord,” added Marley. “We will do this by competing hard, showing great sportsmanship, serving others, and at the end of the day giving God all the glory no matter the outcome.”
Last season the Eagles finished 7-3 with a successful trip to the playoffs and earned the title of District A-7 Champions. In its 2016 season opener last week, the team defeated Crossings Christian 42-7.
“I could not be more proud of our team,” Marley said. “They competed with heart and left everything on the field. It was a great way to start the 2016 season. However, we now have to be mentally prepared to face a strong Kiefer team tonight and defend our home turf.”
The new stadium, which also houses a new four-room press box, is part of the $50 million project made possible by the Eddy Gibbs Family Trust donation. The RCS athletic facilities also include a baseball field, three gymnasiums, a weight room training complex and tennis courts.
“The sky is the limit for the future of Rejoice Athletics,” said Marley. “As we commit to the Lord in whatever we do, we will see a multitude of Rejoice athletes mount up with wings like eagles.”
