Owasso Police on scene at a duplex where the murder occured

Update: The deceased has been identified as 37yo Michael Shane Floyd of Owasso.
Owasso’s Deputy Chief of Police Jason B. Woodruff reports that on Thursday, September 15, at approximately 12:45am, Owasso officers were dispatched to a disturbance/altercation at a residence in the area of 11300 North 112 East Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located a 30yo deceased adult male inside the residence with multiple apparent stab wounds. Witnesses informed officers that the suspect had fled the area on foot and officers immediately began searching the area.
Officers located the suspect hiding in a field a short distance from the residence and he was taken into custody without incident. At this time, detectives are processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses.
The victim’s identity is not being released at this time pending notification of his next of kin.
The suspect has been identified as David Wayne Ellis (age 60) of Owasso. Mr. Ellis is being held on Murder charges pending transport to the Tulsa County Jail.
