Donald Leon Batchelor was born September 27, 1928, in Kingfisher County, Oklahoma, to William Trescott and Jenny Vola (McGuire) Batchelor. He died Sunday, October 2, 2016, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years. Don was reared and educated in Kingfisher and graduated with the Big Four High School Class of 1946. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with the United States Army during World War II. He was married November 27, 1949, in Crescent, Oklahoma, to Patricia Lou Graff. After moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma, Don began his career with British Petroleum as an oil scout before retiring in 1990. He had been a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa, and then later attended Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Owasso. He was also a member of the Power Squadron in Tulsa. He served as Past President and board member with Home of Hope in Vinita, Oklahoma. Don enjoyed a variety of pastimes including playing tennis when he was younger and was a big sports fan. He also enjoyed going to the lake and spending time boating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Robert, “Bob” Batchelor, Kenneth Batchelor, and Irving Batchelor, and one son, Christopher Batchelor.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Owasso with Father Brian Beard officiating. Graveside service will be held 2:00 that afternoon at Rolsten Cemetery at Monkey Island in Delaware County. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Home of Hope, P.O. Box 903, Vinita, Oklahoma, 74301. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
