At some point, everybody has had these thoughts: What am I doing here? My life is so humdrum! I’d just as soon drive an anchor through the mud every day! Is this all there is? What is my purpose? I’ve got no vision.
Well, that’s the problem—no vision! When a child is born, one of their greatest needs is for somebody to instill a big vision inside of them. Otherwise, when they become an adult, they’ll live from day to day with no purpose, no vision, and nothing to shoot for that’s of any consequence.
To fill that void, they’ll buy things they can’t afford, go to places they shouldn’t go, and hang out with people they shouldn’t hang out with—people who don’t have any vision either. They’re easily bored with life. They live a hamster-wheel life going nowhere and accomplishing nothing.
Everyone needs a vision and a purpose. How do you get a vision and a purpose? Read the Bible and pray and ask God for direction for your life. Psalms 37:23 (AMP) says, “The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step].”
God will direct and establish your steps! You’ll find yourself busy with His plan for your life! You’ll have something to look forward to every day of your life because you have a purpose!

If you don’t know what God has got for you to do, you won’t be busy doing it. Begin to read God’s Word and ask God to give you direction for your life. Ask Him to show you the vision and purpose He has for you. Then get busy doing it!
