If you like to play games, you will love American Learn to Play Mahjong. American Mahjong is played with four players using tiles stamped with Chinese symbols. The goal of the game is to be the first to match one’s tiles to a specific hand from the National Mahjong League’s annually distributed scorecard ($9,) by picking and discarding, much like the card game Gin Rummy. We do not keep score and do not gamble on each hand.
You don’t need to bring anything to learn, just a willing spirit. You might wish to purchase your own scorecard at some later date, however you may borrow one while you are learning.
A sign-up sheet will be available at the front desk of the Owasso Community Center. The center is located at 301 S Cedar Street in Owasso. Than can be reached by phone at 918- 272-3903
The first class will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016.
