Owasso – February 2, 2017: The Owasso City Council will present a Proclamation to Chaumont, France declaring a Sister City partnership at the Owasso City Council Meeting on Tuesday, February 7 at 6:00 PM. The Owasso City Council and City Staff will welcome nearly fifty high school students and visitors from Chaumont, France, visiting as part of a Student Exchange program that began in 2008.
The Owasso City Council Chaumont and Owasso are vibrant communities similar in size and this long standing tradition of families opening their homes to the Exchange Students lead officials in Chaumont and Owasso to discuss becoming Sister Cities. The objective of becoming a Sister City is to foster individual and group educational, cultural, economic, and municipal discussions and activities that are mutually beneficial to each community.
A reception will be held at 109 N Birch (Old Central) just before the Owasso City Council meeting. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
