02/06/2017 – from the City of Owasso
Owasso residents are being asked to participate in the election of a councilor for Ward 3. Residents must live in the city limits of Owasso to vote in this election. However, it is not necessary to live in the council ward. Owasso’s councilors are elected at large, which means all residents may vote, regardless of the ward in which they live.
Three candidates filed in the Ward 3 election. Candidates are incumbent Councilor Bill Bush, Randy Cowling, and Justin Prince. Owasso’s City Councilors do not receive compensation for serving on the City Council, and serve for a term of 3 years.
The Ward 4 filing resulted in only one candidate, Lyndell Dunn, who currently serves as Owasso’s Mayor. As a result, Mr. Dunn will continue to serve on the City Council for another 3 years.
We encourage all residents to vote in this and all City Council elections. To look up the polling location for your voter registration and view a sample ballot, please visit https://services.okelections.us/voterSearch.aspx
