Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a personal injury collision occurred July 27, 2017 at approximately 11:40am hours on I44 eastbound 2/10th of a mile east of 90th East Avenue within Tulsa city limits in Tulsa County.
A 2016 Isuzu box truck driven by Marcus West, age 34, of Owasso, was traveling eastbound on I44. West fell asleep and his vehicle departed the roadway to the right, striking several sand barrels and a sign support post before coming to rest on its side. West was ejected from the vehicle upon striking support post and came to rest approximately two feet from trucks point of rest. He was transported by EMSA to St Francis Hospital where he was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm, and leg injuries.
