Just in case you notice some of your OPD officers starting to look a little “scruffy” this month, rest assured that it’s for a good cause. No, they haven’t lowered their hygiene standards, OPD officers and employees will be participating in “No Shave November”.
Starting today, and extending through December 31st, OPD employees will be allowed to grow facial hair or apply purple hair dye in exchange for donations to selected charities. At the end of December, honors will be bestowed for a variety of categories ranging from the “best beard” to the most pathetic attempt. The Owasso Police Department Facebook page post states that “most of us will probably be in the running for the latter.”
