02/06/2018 – The Owasso Police Department has release more detail on Mondays accident where a child was run over in the Reasor’s parking lot.

Monday morning, February 5th,  Owasso officers were dispatched to Reasor’s in reference to an auto/pedestrian accident.

Owasso Medics arrived on scene and began treating a thirteen year old boy, who had reportedly been run over by a vehicle.

Officers spoke to Doris Emrick (age 91), the driver of the vehicle that allegedly struck the juvenile.  Doris reported that she was attempting to back out of a parking space, but when she put the car in gear and pressed the accelerator the car went forward instead of in reverse.  The boy was walking on the sidewalk directly in front of the parking space when Doris’ vehicle accelerated forward and drove over him before Doris could bring the vehicle to a stop.

The juvenile was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Tulsa with serious injuries.  His condition is not known at this time.

Doris Emrick was released at the scene.  A review will be conducted at the conclusion of the accident investigation to determine if criminal charges are warranted in this case.
