H M BaileyHelen Marie Bailey was born January 5, 1928, in Lela Lake, Texas to Elner Lee and Helen Bernice Moore Dotson. She died Saturday, February 24, 2018, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 90 years. Helen was reared and educated in Hedley, Texas, and was a graduate of Hedley High School. She had worked in a grocery store before moving to Amarillo, Texas, where she worked on the assembly line making ammunition for use in World War II. After the war, she worked in ladies wear at Schulty United Store. Helen was married September 15, 1946, in Amarillo to Wayne Bailey. She was always involved with the activities of her family and children and had served as a Cub Scout leader. Helen became a Christian at age 12 and was baptized in a horse tank in McKnight, Texas. She was a longtime faithful member Rogers Heights Christian Church where she taught Sunday school to the first through third grade classes. While at Rogers Heights she was named Mother of the Year. After moving to Tulsa she became active at Yale Avenue Christian Church. Caring for her family was always her priority, even later years when her husband was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, caring for him over 18 years. Brent Bailey and wife Lindsey, of Houston, Texas
Great grandchildren; Hallie, Landry, Camille, Caitlin, Brooklin, and Ashlin
Two sisters;
Doris Johnson, of Columbia, South Carolina
Wanda Lee Youree, of Amarillo, Texas
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne Bailey, and brother, Bill Moore.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Leonard Pirtle and Pastor Larry Moore officiating. Committal service and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso. www.moweryfs.com
