OPD Update 04/02/19 7:30pm “The suspect in this case, Anthony Robinson, surrendered himself to Owasso Police after immense media and social media coverage of our attempt to locate. He surrendered at 6:57 in the PM at the Owasso Police Department where he was interviewed by officers. The incident that occurred in Owasso, that led to our media release is still under ongoing investigation and reports regarding this incident will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office. In the meantime however, following the interview, Mr. Robinson was taken into custody for outstanding district felony warrants out of Nowata County that included Uttering a Forged Instrument (Fraud). He was transported to the Tulsa County Jail where he will await transport back to Nowata County. “
04/02/2019 – Owasso officers were dispatched a trespassing/suspicious person in the backyard of a residence in the Preston Lakes neighborhood. A witness reported seeing a man in the fenced backyard of his neighbor’s house, near the bedroom window of resident’s nine-year-old daughter. Upon being confronted, the man reportedly ran away; climbing back over the fence and fleeing in a black Honda four-door sedan, which was occupied by another man. The witness was able to get the license plate on the Honda and provide the information to the police. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect(s).
The license plate number provided by the witness indicated that the owner is Anthony Robinson, a convicted sex offender from Ochelata, OK with outstanding felony arrest warrants from Nowata County. The description of the man seen in the yard matched Robinson’s physical characteristics. The other man in the vehicle was described as a white male wearing glasses.
Fortunately, the girl was not home at the time of the incident, but given the nature of the allegations and the apparent criminal history of the suspect, this incident is obviously very concerning.
A notice has been sent to surrounding law enforcement agencies requesting that officers be on the lookout for the suspect. We are also asking anyone in the public to contact the Owasso Police Department if they have information about this incident or information about Robinson’s current location.
