Jerry Alan Nunn was born April 1, 1949 in Commerce, Oklahoma to Claud W. Nunn and Juanita Agnes (Campbell) Nunn. He passed from this life on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 70. Jerry was raised and educated in Commerce and graduated with the Commerce High School Class of 1967. After high school he attended classes at Northeastern Oklahoma College in Miami, Oklahoma and then transferred to Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas where he earned a bachelor’s degree in music education. Jerry taught band in high school and was a restaurant manager of an Arby’s and a KFC before going to work at the Lloyd E. Rader Center from 1985 to 2010 where he finished as a security training specialist. Jerry had made his home in Glenpool, Oklahoma for 41 years until moving to Owasso in December of 2019. He enjoyed a variety of past times such as watching James Bond movies, carpentry work, traveling across the country as well as internationally, photography, and taking up biking in his final years.
Jerry is survived by a large and loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Juanita, 2 brothers, Robert and James, and one sister, Evelyn.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 at Eastside Baptist Church in Collinsville with Pastor Michael Nunn officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Jerry’s memory to American Cancer Society, 4110 South 100th East Avenue Suite #101, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74146. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
