Wayne Bunch was born on March 23, 1951 in San Diego, California to Donald Lee Bunch and Hilda (Lopez) Bunch. He passed from this life on Friday, December 11, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years. Wayne was raised and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the McLain High School Class of 1969. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Wayne was married on January 27, 1973 at Turley Methodist Church in Turley, Oklahoma to Carol Jean (Robinson) Bunch. He spent most of his working life as a Sports Reporter with the Tulsa World for over 40 years. He also worked for Northeastern State University and Connors Jr. College reporting on a variety of sports including football, basketball, softball, and baseball. Wayne was a faithful member of Turley Methodist Church for 47 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed a variety of past times such as following college sports, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers, and gardening.
