Marilyn Ann Carty was born July 29, 1936, in Pleasant View, Arkansas, to Robert Alexander and Era Helen Robinson Smither. She entered heaven’s gates Friday, October 8, 2021, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, at the age of 85 years. Marilyn completed her secondary education in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated with the Rogers High School Class of 1955. She was married November 24, 1957, in Tulsa, to Jim Carty. Marilyn spent most of her working life as an executive secretary with American Airlines in Tulsa. She was a strong woman of faith and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville. She loved her church family and enjoyed church activities and fellowship. She also enjoyed time decorating the church foyer, as well as for many banquets and events. Family was very important to Marilyn and she was affectionately known as “Mama Carty” to her grandchildren.

Brother; Darrell Smither and wife Ann, of Owasso, Oklahoma
She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Rachel Rizzo.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2021, at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville with Pastor Tim Prock officiating. Final resting place will be at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
