Dixie Lea Floyd was born July 13, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Bert Andrew Stimson and Marion Elizabeth Thomas Stimson. She died Thursday, December 29, 2022, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years. Dixie was reared and educated in Tulsa and graduated with the Will Rogers High School Class of 1954. She was married November 19, 1955, in Valliant, Oklahoma, to George Edward Floyd. She spent most of her professional career as a pediatrics nurse with Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Dixie had made her home in Talala, Oklahoma, since 1973. She had been a faithful member of Central Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes including going shopping at antique markets and collectibles stores. She was an avid collector of hummingbird figurines, Limoges hand painted China and glassware, as well as unique handblown glassware.

Seven grandchildren and Six great grandchildren
Brother; Richard Stimson and wife Judy, of Quinlan, Texas
Son-in-law; Michael Murphy, of Fairbanks, Alaska
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Edward Floyd, daughter, Terri Murphy, and brother Craig Stimson.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso. Graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2023, at Fairview Cemetery in Talala, Oklahoma, with Pastor Kevin Laufer officiating.
