Janelle Maxine NealJanelle M. (Megee) Neal was born on March 14, 1935, in Fairfax, Oklahoma to George Washington Megee and Grayce Lorena (Holcomb) Megee. She was raised and educated in Fairfax and graduated with the Fairfax High School Class of 1953. Later, she attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Education. She worked for American Airlines for four years. On October 5, 1962, in Bloomfield, New Mexico she married the love of her life, Carl B. Neal. They had two children, a son, Steve, and a daughter, Jennifer. During Janelle’s lifetime she and her husband moved from Flora Vista, New Mexico to Plainview, Floydada, Cone, Pampa, and Amarillo, Texas to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Carl had pastored small Baptist churches in each of these places and ended up pastoring as a chaplain with the Baptist Village in Okmulgee, Oklahoma for five years. Over the years, Janelle was a substitute teacher and worked as a Mary Kay beauty consultant. Besides her Savior Jesus Christ, immediate family was her greatest love, also many extended family, church family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Grayce, two brothers, Otis and George, and her son, Steven.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in Aslup Chapel at the Baptist Village in Owasso with Chaplain Steve Williams officiationg. There will be an opportunity for viewing one hour prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.
