Susan Jane BarhamSusan Jane Barham was born November 3, 1942, in Bismark, North Dakota, to Raymond John “Doc” Dougherty and Violet Isabelle Heusted Dougherty. She died Tuesday, March 28, 2023, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years. Sue completed her secondary education in Steele, North Dakota, and graduated with the Steele High School Class of 1960. She continued her education attending Valley City State College in Valley City, North Dakota, from 1961-1963. Sue was married January 9, 1967, in Aberdeen South Dakota, to Jerry Ray Barham. They had made their home in Owasso, Oklahoma, since 1977. She had been a longtime faithful member of First Church Owasso, formerly First Christian Church, since the early 1980’s. Sue attended Tulsa Community College earning her associate of arts degree in 1999. She spent her professional career as a medical receptionist until her retirement. She had maintained her hairdresser license, keeping it current, and was known to style and cut hair for many friends and family in her home. She also enjoyed driving a school bus for Owasso Public Schools. Sue enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but family was most important to her, especially her role as “Granny” to her grandkids.

Rebekah Barham and Sarah Barham, both of Mansfield, Texas
Railee Barham, of Owasso, Oklahoma
Great grandson; Grady Goins, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma
Sister-in-law; Vera Barham Fleming, Norman, Oklahoma
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry Barham, brothers, Richard Bruce Dougherty and Lyle Dougherty, sisters, Pearlee Dougherty and Verda Ann Dougherty, twin sister, Rebecca Selland, and two grandsons, Skyler Barham and Dustin Barham.
 
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at First Church, Owasso, with Pastor Matt Thomason officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Sue’s memory to the First Church Building Fund, 10100 North Garnett Road, Owasso, Oklahoma, 74055. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
