Spread the love
Terrall Johnson Jr.Terrall’s journey began in 1959, in Harrison, Arkansas. At the age of two, his family’s path led them to Tulsa, where the foundations of his character and values were laid.

In 1978, Terrall’s path intertwined with that of a woman who would become his lifelong partner, Janet. Their love story became a beacon of devotion, endurance, and unwavering companionship. Just a few months ago in June, they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary, a testament to the strength of their bond and the love they shared.

Throughout his life, Terrall wore many hats, transitioning through various occupations like a steel worker, crane driver, farmer, security guard, and card dealer. However, it was in his family’s convenience store and nursery in Owasso that he found his true calling. An innate ability to nurture and cultivate life blossomed within him. While he always excelled at growing plants, he had never got the chance to do so in a greenhouse so he went to school for horticulture to learn even more. He transformed into a master gardener, pouring his heart and soul into the earth, coaxing forth life from the soil.

Terrall’s passion for gardening was not just about plants; it was a reflection of his deep love for nurturing and guiding others. He dedicated himself to teaching and sharing his knowledge, empowering everyone around him to cultivate their own sustenance. He often spoke of how God had entrusted humanity with two sacred tasks: to tend to the earth and to spread the gospel. Terrall embraced these responsibilities wholeheartedly, finding joy in fulfilling them.

In 2006, life presented him with a challenge in the form of disability, but this did not not dampen his spirit. It was during this time of slowing down that he found solace in studying the Bible, deepening his connection with Christ.

Terrall’s journey of faith took a significant turn in 2012 when he became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Claremore. This spiritual chapter added depth and purpose to his life, guiding his actions and inspiring those around him. His faith was not confined to the walls of the church; it radiated through every facet of his being. His love for the Lord grew stronger, and he eagerly anticipated the day he would find eternal rest until his return to the Lord.

Today, as we bid farewell to Terrall, we remember the love he poured into every relationship, the knowledge he shared so generously, and the faith that sustained him. His life was a tapestry woven with threads of dedication, kindness, and unwavering belief.

As we honor Terrall’s memory, let us also remember that his journey continues in our hearts. Let us carry forward the lessons he imparted – the importance of nurturing life, embracing faith, and spreading love. Though he may be no longer with us, his legacy lives on in each life he touched.

Until the day we meet again, may his memory inspire us to tend to the world around us and to share the light of faith with all we encounter.
