Jim was deeply loved by his family, friends, and former students. He was known for his sense of humor, infectious laugh, and love of puns and wordplay. He loved singing, playing, and listening to gospel and folk music. He believed in strong character, had a powerful sense of right and wrong, and always held the door for his wife. He was an unforgettable personality, and the world is lessened by his passing.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 15, 2024 in the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Paul Purifoy officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim’s memory to The Mission, 11341 N. Garnett Rd., Owasso, OK 74055.
