Cora Violet Mercer was born on November 7, 1939, in Morrison, Oklahoma to Earl E. Hardin and Rena M. (McCall) Hardin. She passed from this life on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at her home in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. Cora was raised and educated in Morrison, Oklahoma and graduated with the Morrison High School Class of 1957. She then attended Texas Christian University in Abilene, Texas, where she studied accounting. Core moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma and worked as a receptionist in the Student Publication office at Oklahoma State University for 10 years. She married Thomas Ford Mercer on March 28, 1962, in Stillwater. Cora spent most of her working life in the home, raising her two daughters. She was a faithful member of Owasso First Assembly for the past 22 years. In her spare time, Cora enjoyed a variety of past times such as staying at the family lake house on Lake Tenkiller, fishing and boating, and traveling through Europe as she was able to see over 40 countries.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Rena, 4 sisters, Jean, Effie, June, and Dorothy, and her daughter, Theresa.
