01/16/2025 – This afternoon, Owasso Fire Department responded heroically to a rescue call after a dog fell through the ice at Three Lakes Park, located at 8500 North 129th East Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters launched a kayak onto the ice. One brave firefighter paddled through the icy water, carefully navigating toward Zoi, the stranded dog. It took approximately 15 minutes of effort to reach her. Once the firefighter managed to grab Zoi’s collar, he gave the command to “pull,” prompting the team to work together to bring the dog closer to safety.

About halfway back to the shore, Zoi found her footing on solid ice and made her way to dry land on her own.

This incredible rescue showcased the skill, determination, and teamwork of the Owasso Fire Department. Thank you, Owasso Fire, for your dedication and quick action!
