Spread the love

Linda Lea Ryburn Mazur of Owasso passed peacefully from this life on April 17th, surrounded by family and loved ones in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 77 years old.

Linda (“Nini” to her grandchildren) was a devoted spouse, mother, and grandmother. The homes she made in Oklahoma, New Jersey, and Missouri were places of abiding love and joy for family and guests alike. Christmas was a passion, and from mid-November through year’s end not a corner of Linda’s house was left untouched by the season. She was a dedicated fan of the football and basketball teams from the schools of her children and grandchildren, spending countless hours cheering, in-person and at home, for the Owasso Rams, Maryland Terrapins, Mizzou Tigers, and Oklahoma Sooners. In later years, Linda was a fixture in her second row seats on the baseline at Tulsa University men’s basketball games.

Earlier in life, Linda graduated from Tulsa East Central High School and attended Tulsa University, where she met Robert (Bob) Mazur. They wed in 1971, launching a loving marriage that would stretch 53 years. While she from time to time held jobs outside the home, Linda poured herself foremost into her family. Whether as dance mom, baseball mother, or costume volunteer for the school musical, Linda pressed herself into the service of her children’s growth and happiness. Upon graduating to the position of grandmother in 2006, Linda carefully tracked her grandchildren’s exploits and maintained an encyclopedic knowledge of their successes. They have walked through the world buoyed every moment by her pride in them.

Linda is survived by husband Robert, her son Jeffrey Mazur (Mindy) of St. Louis, daughter Maryann Wright (David Wintrich) of Owasso, grandchildren Mackenna, Gavin, Melody, and Eliza, sister Carole Ryburn Perks of Owasso, and former son-in-law Jake Wright of Owasso. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Lou and James Edwin Ryburn and her brother James Edwin Ryburn, Jr.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00AM CT, at Mowery Funeral Service Chapel, 9110 N Garnett Rd. in Owasso. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to Susan G. Komen.
