Caden Cubbage is 4 yrs old who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 19 months. Caden will be starting Kindergarten in Owasso next year, along with his Brother Adam who already attends school at Mills Elementary. Caden has a Diabetic Alert Dog named Piper who assists in helping us monitor his blood sugar. Piper has been a true blessing to the family. Piper even has her own Facebook page “Piper – A Diabetic Alert Dog for Caden” that they use to help educate and bring awareness to the general public regarding Type 1 Diabetes and Diabetic Alert Dogs.
Their family has been dedicated to raising money for the JDRF Foundation in hopes of a cure in Caden’s future (and all of the other children and adults living with this disease).
Please join their fight by either donating to the cause or walking with them September 28th, 2013 at the OU Schusterman Center in Tulsa, or by donating and walking! They would love to have you there with them. They will be wearing the same team t-shirt again this year as last year, but if you didn’t get one or need another one, they will have more made. Also, if you raise at least $100.00, you will receive a 2013 Walk t-shirt from JDRF.
The JDRF Walk is a fantastic way to make a difference in the millions of lives of people affected by type 1 diabetes. For at least that one day, they will look around and see all the support they have from their friends, family and community. On Walk Day, everyone can have fun and celebrate how much closer to a cure we are because of their efforts.
