In October 2015, Anchor Stone Quarry filed a zoning change request to expand their mining operation off of 66th Street North west from North 145th East Avenue, acquiring 47 acres currently owned by Cummings Land & Cattle Co. LLC.
After opposition from neighbors and the City of Owasso, the quarry withdrew their application. In July they refiled an application, which met with concern from residents in the Crown Colony and Keys Landing neighborhoods.
Owassoisms learned today that Anchor Stones Attorney, Roy Johnson has stated they have once again withdrawn the request for expansion, sighting an additional study is required.
