Anthony Francis “Tony” Cavallo, Jr, resident of Owasso, passed from this life on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the age of 65 years. Tony was born July 25, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York to Anthony Francis and Bruna Carmella (Vitiello) Cavallo. He was raised and received his education in New York, graduating high school from Half Hollow in Huntington, NY. Tony continued his education, by receiving his business degree from the New York Institute of Technology. On August 31, 1974, Tony and Marilyn Jean Wride were united in marriage in Athens, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 1971 until he was honorably discharged on May 15, 1980. He and Marilyn resided in Norfolk, VA until returning to Brooklyn. They have made Oklahoma home since 1994. Tony was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Owasso; he owned both a 1980 & 2002 Corvette and enjoyed taking them to Car Shows. He also enjoyed stamp collecting. Prior to his death, he was the business manager for the Cherokee Nation casinos.
Those that survive include his wife Marilyn; sons – Anthony Francis Cavallo, III and wife Lindsay of Sherman, TX and Jeffrey James Cavallo and wife Seanna of Broken Arrow, OK. Also surviving are four grandchildren Luke Gowdy, Anthony Francis Cavallo, IV, Emma Jane Cavallo and Dylan Kane Cavallo; and a sister Rosemarie Nazario of Long Island, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at St. Henry Catholic Church, Owasso, with Father Matt LaChance officiating. At Tony’s request, cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, those that wish may donate to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104 in his memory.
