Question:
My nails seem to “peel” sometimes. Is this normal?
Answer:
Peeling nails are usually a sign of an underlying problem with the nail or with some other type of illness within the body. There are many common nail problems that can cause them to peel such as psoriasis, eczema, fungus, or yeast. There are also several general health problems that can cause nail peeling such as fever, vitamin deficiencies, or diabetes. The differences between these causes can be very subtle and should be evaluated by your doctor.
