Press Release from Aretha Frankin:
ARETHA FRANKLIN RESCHEDULES OKLAHOMA CONCERTS
Detroit–Aretha Franklin is rescheduling two upcoming Oklahoma concert dates.
Ms. Franklin said in a press statement: “After such a long, 4,200 mile drive to the West Coast in July, I’m not prepared to drive as far west so soon again. I am so sorry to have to disappoint my fans there, but I will reschedule.”
She was scheduled to perform October 17 at the Choctaw Events Center in Durant, OK and on Oct. 22 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tulsa, OK.
Franklin, who lives in Detroit, does not fly and only travels by tour bus. She performed at sold-out concerts in L.A., Santa Barbara and Oakland, CA in August.
Franklin will continue her scheduled dates in the Midwest, South, North and East regions and her Sept. 26 appearance for the Pope “with great anticipation,” she says.
