07/23/2020 – The Bailey Education Foundation is pleased to announce the scholarship recipients. We would like to thank everyone who applied for a scholarship and congratulate those who were selected this year.
Since the Bailey Education Foundation was established, we have awarded $67,000 to 54 students. The Bailey Education Foundation Board of Directors really wanted to do something special for these students since so many school activities were canceled or changed this year. The Coronavirus may have negatively impacted this school year, but we wanted to help and do something positive. We are extremely excited to announce an increase in our awards this year. For 2020, The Bailey Education Foundation is awarding $27,500 in scholarships to 17 students.
$5,000 scholarship winner
Ronan Locker is the Owasso High School Valedictorian for the graduating class of 2020. He will be starting his medical journey this Fall at Stanford University. He is pursuing a Biomedical Engineering degree.
$5,000 scholarship winner
Caleb Smith is a three-time recipient of this honor. He is an Owasso High School graduate and this year he graduated from Oklahoma State University. He will continue his education at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine this Fall.
$2,500 scholarship winners
Katherine Lesicka – Owasso HS class of 2020 – pursuing her Chemistry degree to become a Physician by attending OU in the Fall.
Katheryn Turner – Owasso HS class of 2020 – pursuing her degree in Biomedical Engineering by attending Duke University in the Fall.
Claire Barrett – Owasso HS Class of 2020 – pursuing her Nursing degree at Oklahoma Baptist University in the Fall.
Megan Giddens – Junior at Oklahoma State University. Collinsville HS graduate. A two-time recipient of the Bailey Education Foundation scholarship. Continuing her Physiology degree to become a Physician’s Assistant in the Fall.

The funds for the Bailey Education Foundation scholarship are due in part to our fundraising efforts through our Bunco for a Cause monthly event and our annual Murder Mystery Dinner & Silent Auction. Because of the support and generosity of our sponsors and community, these events continue to grow and contribute to the success of our program.
